Edit, don't restart
Do this
Stay in the chat. Point at what's off. Name the fix.
Copy these edits
- "Cut paragraph 3. It's filler."
- "Rewrite the opening — too formal. Sound like a friend texting."
- "Too long. Give me the 40% version."
- "I like point 2. Expand it. Kill the rest."
- "Change every 'leverage' or 'utilize' to plain language."
The quote-and-fix trick
This line doesn't work:
> "We're thrilled to announce our commitment to innovation."
Rewrite in one sentence, plain language, no buzzwords.
Should sound like something a human says out loud.
Restart only when
- Topic changes completely.
- Original context was wrong and Claude anchored on it.
- Chat is hundreds of messages long and Claude's lost the thread.
Default behavior
Stay. Your context is an asset. Don't throw it away because draft 3 wasn't perfect.
Rule
Quote the line. Name the fix. Keep going.
